LOVE
LOVE
Take a moment and consider this question. What do you need more, to love or be loved? If you haven’t taken that moment, you still can before I tell you.
The need to love is more basic than the need to be loved. It is wonderful to be loved and we do need to be loved. But we have a deeper yearning to love.
I once had a poster with a photo of a precious baby and beautiful angel and this quote from the poem “The Angel that Presided ‘oer my Birth” by William Blake:
The Angel that presided ‘oer my birth
Said, “Little creature, form’d of Joy and Mirth,
“Go love without the help of any Thing on Earth.”
It took many years for me to fully understand this, “Go love without the help of any Thing on Earth.” At our core, we are radiant beings of Love. We feel our best when we are filled with this Love and radiating it forth. When we reside in the stillness within, we feel this Love expanding and filling us with radiant light. We cross the transpersonal divide and vibrate to the frequency of Love. If we could live from this place all the time we would be in nirvana.
Fear, and only fear, keeps us from this brilliant state of being. What are we afraid of? We are afraid of emotional pain so we defend ourselves by protecting our hearts from vulnerability. Any such defense stops the natural flow of our Love essence. Unfortunately, what we do to defend ourselves is the worst pain we can inflict on ourselves because it closes our hearts and robs us of the peace and joy of fully experiencing our radiant Self.
This is what William Blake was referring to when he said, “Go love without the help of any Thing on Earth.” He was calling us home to nirvana.

Marcia,
Thank you for the lovely image, “radiant beings of love.” Thank you for reminding us that we feel our best when we radiate love. I often reflect on the paradox. Love is our Diving nature. And love is our greatest lesson to learn. -
Hi Marcia,
Well expressed, as you always do. I look forward to your postings and thoroughly appreciate the depth of your writing.
It is easy to become defensive and close yourself off at times when dealing with challenging people, but this is a healthy reminder to be kind and positive in giving our love to others.
Thanks so much,Marcia,
Marietta
